Homeless Christmas Eve Party 2019
Last year, Midland Langar Seva Society threw their Christmas Eve party at New Street Station for the homeless. This year it’s making a return! With the help of our many selfless volunteers, last year was truly magical. New Street Station was transformed into a dining hall, where two hundred homeless people were given the festive dinner they deserve.
If you'd like to donate and help towards to cost of feeding everyone, you can via the button below. Just £5 will feed a homeless person this Christmas.
This holiday, get ready for another Christmas Eve party. The winter months are the hardest for people living without a home, as they’re constantly trying to find their way to warmth and safety. A lot of unfortunate situations leave people without daily food. No-one should be left to live like that, which is why we offer our hand.
In addition to the hardship they already face daily, Christmas time makes it even more difficult. While we are at home with our families, others will still be stuck on the streets alone. People of all ages have to survive this way every year, and it’s unbelievable.
What will be at the party?
With the help of Network Rail and Monsoon Venue Group, MLSS are hosting their Christmas party on the 24th of December at Birmingham, New Street Station, between 6pm and 9pm. With our growing support, we are hoping to make an even bigger difference than last year.
The party venue will be amazingly decorated, with gift wrapped presents and a seated three course meal (a hot roast vegetarian dinner), with non-alcoholic drinks to wash it all down. Everyone will receive true VIP treatment.
Furthermore, Santa Claus will be attending, taking some time out of his very busy Christmas schedule. Not only that, but there will also be beautiful carol singers spreading the festivity, a disco, games to play and so much more. There will be something for everyone!
Last Year’s Help
A woman called Louise, who attended the Christmas Eve party last year, said: ‘What they have done for us is amazing. I live on the streets and without this I wouldn’t have had a Christmas meal, the only way I could have a hot meal would be by begging on the streets. I spent last night sleeping outside the station where the bikes are stored, it was freezing cold. It’s amazing what they have done for the homeless.’ Quote taken from: https://www.itv.com/news/central/2018-12-25/christmas-dinner-for-homeless-at-new-street-station/.
Last year, MLSS managed to touch the hearts of many. This year, we’re looking to help even more.
In addition to the Birmingham New Street feed, we will also be holding further Christmas meals across the country in other venues, including Leicester (market) and Wolverhampton as well as our usual feeds at various locations. You can keep up to date on all of the above through our social channels. Make sure to follow for information.
